Jax utilities plain suck. My mom in Melbourne has a river flowing through her front yard and never lost power even with the storm sitting on top of her house for 2days.
I fart too hard on the toilet and I lose power. 6hrs now and counting.

That sucks. Really sucks man. Sorry to hear this. I hope the power is restored very soon.
I have to go now... I'll need to turn my AC up to 76 cuz it's freezing in here. and maybe watch some DTV. The Olympics are on you know.

Dude Rob. When the fires hit Palm Bay and took out dozens of power line poles (including the one in my backyard), we were out of power for only 3 days. FPL was all over it for a week... I've never seen so much ass-kicking from an electric company in my life

FPL has obviously improved a lot. I can remember when we used to call them Florida Phlash & fLicker. 
JEA needs to take some lessons. I was watching a press conf yesterday and the JEA guy said he expected 50-60% customers will lose power during the storm. WTF...I'd hate to see what happens in a full hurricane.
