Looking to pick up an S2000...
Hey guys, i'm looking to pick up an S2000 soon. I'll be trading/selling my Mazdaspeed6.
What I'm looking for...
04/05 White/Tan - Decent Mileage
06 White/Black - Second Preference...
Other Colors 04+ - I'll definately consider...
New - If the price is right...
Realistically, i'd prefer to pick one up from a dealer. So if you, or someone you know, or maybe you have been at the dealer lately, has seen anything like this please let me know...
Also, some members are saying they are buying these cars brand new for $28K, if anyone in the Central Florida area has managed this and can refer me to someone that would be appreciated as well...
Thanks...

I just got a 2007 a few months ago...cash to the dealer with no trade and no dealer or manufacturer financing. I bought from Holler, and it was my fourth car from Holler. I thought that I got a good deal, but it was no where near $28k.
I looked for a few certified S2000's, and when I was looking the real low mileage cars where in the Sarasota area. Some had less than 10,000 miles, and I think that they were in the range of $26k to $28k. Of course, the dealers could have moved off the price if I was really interested. For me, I didn't want to travel that far, and Holler had a Silverstone Grey with a black/red interior, my first preference.
But $28k sounds like an awfully thin margin for a dealer on a new car. My deal was $32,750.00, out the door, i.e., inclusive of all dealer fees, taxes, title and tag, in January. I also live in Seminole County which means my sales tax is a little higher than if I was in Orange County.
I don't know what the local dealers are selling them for now. If you buy one, I would make one recommendation...save some $ for a 3m clear shield. I am getting it put on my car in the new week or so...costs about $475 to $550, depending on installer, but it helps prevent paint chips.
