Default Miami meets and track days

Hello all,

Although I don't currently have an S2000 I'm planning on obtaining one within the next 6 months or so (just saving up some cash for a good AP2). My question is are there any owners in Miami that regularly get together? I would love to attend a meet.

I also have many track questions:
  1. Do you guys go to the track? If so how often?
  2. Are there open track days where anyone can just take their car to the track?
  3. Are there teachers/guides that would be able to help a new comer around the track with basic manevours? Everytime I see one of those youtube vids when the guy almost loses control or the wheel 'fights' on corners I wonder what's the proper way to handle that.
  4. How much does it cost to track your car? Do you need a specific license?
  5. Does the Homestead Speedway have open track days (haven't been able to find any myself)?

Thanks guys!

Hey JohnnyBoy, I'm fairly new to this community and I have the same questions as you do. Hoping to hear from some answers.

Hey Tonkpils, I emailed the guy who runs NASA FL the website that dc50818 referred us to. He told me it's around $45 bucks a year to join the club and then $300-450 to race on the track. This hobby is pretty expensive. In any case, I can't wait to get my s2000 and put it on the track!

I know exactly how you feel. I've been waiting for this car since I was 16. I'm 23 now and I love it. I use mine as a DD and its great. It is expensive but to be honest, just driving it every day top down almost always is the best feeling. Also, you might wanna watch out for other s2kers you'll get a honk or two when they see you lol.
