Default Mount Dora Brewery

LOOK at my last post dates 11/29-2010.................

Looks like a neat place to have a Saturday Afternoon Meeting Spot...........!! Centrally located, use the morning for a "spirited jaunt", everyone takes their own special roads from their home location, and then we meet here. But, we need a mule to check this place out for parking, food, etc. Who is up for the task? Anybody live near this place?

I live near Mt. Dora. Doesn't look like my kinda place but if I'm in the neighborhood I'll check out the parking arrangements. I know there's a good Japanese hibachi steakhouse near that location.

I'm definitely in for this

I like the Mt. Dora area too. Lots of little restaurants and there are some very scenic lake-side driving to be done in that area.

Okay................here is the scoop on this place.

It's very cool. I went tent camping up in Salt Springs this past weekend and made a slight detour to check out this local venue.

The local brewmaster has had the shop some 35 years and was the local furniture maker. He got very interested in "suds" and decided to turn his location into a micro brewery. There are about 48 spaces that are paved and a grass parking lot that should hold 20 cars right accross the street.

He only starts serving food from 6:00 PM on. But, he has arrangements with the other little local owned sandwich shops, pizza makers, etc to deliver the food to us there at his shop while we are tasting his samples. Inside, there is about 40+ seats and the outside Bier Garden adds another 40+.

Mount Dora is fantastic. All kinds of litle eclectic shops, restaurants, etc. No one should be disappointed. This location is centrally located for a major chunk of the state. Could be a neat way to spend day traveling in our cars and enjoying some of the local scenery while we support the local economy.

If you folks are interested in a Saturday Afternoon Meet, please post up. Based upon the response, we'll start a seperate thread for dates and suggestions.

That sounds like a fun time, I would definately be interested. I could help in planning a route for a run. When I was a member of the Orlando 944 club we took some interesting routes through Lake Counties back roads, there is some very fun roads. We could start in the Longwood/Sanford area for a nice drive out to Lake County and enjoy some twisty roads before some brews.
