Default My journey ends :(

Totalled my car last night Got cut off by a 64 year old tourist from oklahoma... I was doing about 50 and t-boned him. He ran a stop sign and cut me off really bad. Both airbags went off. His rear tire ended up on the driver side fender inches away from my face. Any closer his tire wouldve gone through my soft top. Physically im fine, emotionally it hurts. 19 years old, been saving since I was 14 to get this car and pay it off cash. The other driver got a citation and 4 points on his license. By looking at the accident, youd think I was dead. Ill have pictures up soon. I would look into buying another S2000 but my mom is really worried now as you can imagine and doesnt want me in another small car like that, although it held up amazingly well. My mom literally almost had a heart attack. If she changes her mind I WILL be back in a newew S2k, but I am more than likely going to try and shoot for an E46 M3. Faster, yet bigger. Just needed to vent. I never though this would happen to me, im always so aware of everything. Never had an accident or any tickets. The other guys defense "Sorry, I didnt see you"

sorry to hear, but glad the S is built well enough to protect. seems there have been many bad accident's and most of the time the driver has had little to no injuries.

I know you felt fine then, but it's not uncommon for you to be sore or feel pain the following morning.

If you do, get some medical attention. Remember, per FL law, your PIP coverage pays a minimum of 80% of your medical bills up to $10,000.00 without affecting your rates. So go see your M.D. if you're in any pain. Just to make sure everything's okay. If both airbags popped, it was a fairly severe impact, and that can really jolt your body around.

Good luck man! And E46 M3's may be bigger, but they're one helluva car too, you won't be sorry with one.

Wish I had an s2000 at 19!

glad you are OK

Did you get burned at all by the SRS system??

BTW you are 19 and paid the car with your own money. once insurance takes care of everything, if you want to get another S2000 you should have every right to. If it was her that allowed you to get the first one then why would that permission suddenly go away? the car is not unsafe. you can get killed in any vehicle.

um...you are an adult and can buy what you want to.

Not hating on you or your parents...just being logical

If it's any consolation to your mom, you could point out that your S did what is was supposed to do in the accident...it took the brunt of the force of the impact and kept you safe. It sounds like it was pretty serious, and yet you came out of it physically unharmed...to me that seems like a great endorsement for the integrity of the S platform. Thankfully you're o.k....maybe your mom will come around.
