So I head down to the beach.. to cruise.. have dinner.. ya know the fun stuff i haven't done with my S2K yet.. So i cruise around and of course i'm getting all these stares and looks my friend is tripping out... everyone's like Nice car.. Wow.. some tourists even took a pic of it... So i was like hehe... People are like "Can you take me for a ride" (some i just ignored cause well they weren't worth the time). Then this one guy in what i beleive was like a Lumina or something goes... "Thats too much car for a girl.. Can you handle that?" So i snap back and say.. "I could handle it better than you ever could" and he's like "OH really"... "I'm like yeah".. he goes.. "Maybe next time when we have a little more gravel under us".. I was like "After 9k RPM's... all you would be seeing is my lights leaving you behind"... and he was like and I drove off.. Damn @$$hole. Ugh he wasn't even in a "sports car" he was in a SEDAN!!! (a big one at that). Disturbed me that he could think that... OH I saw another S2K... a White w/red interior...

By the way i almost V-teched it today... I dropped my friend off and was getting back onto the expressway... and I got up to 8K and I chickend out.. LOL next thing i notice is i look down and i'm going 91 MPH.. LOL Oh well maybe next time i'll get that baby to 9k.

Cool... sounds like you had fun. Start getting used to all the looks and comments (mostly postitive, unlike that stupid sexist pig in the Lumina) you'll get about the car. Everywhere I would go, people looked and took pictures and had something nice to say.

Once you take it to 9000, its becomes a drug, at least for me. Very addicting.

 

ahh the prrrrr of that baby is soo great..I swear i will take him to 9K, but the only time i am willing is late at night when there aren't idiots on the road.. For one Last night another reason why i chickend out there was this Toyota Corolla that got into my lane when i was hauling @$$ and then i had to switch lanes really quick.. As for the pig.. him, he distrubed me.

 

OK...I'll go where Ironwedge wouldn't. VTEC comes on at 6000rpm. Is your engine broken in yet...more than 600 miles? If not, you should lay off the VTEC until after you have 600 miles on the odometer. It is bad for the engine if you VTEC before then.

And some folks on the board get snippy about the difference between V-tech, which is a telephone, and VTEC, which is Honda's variable timing.

well thank you for the explanation.... I have over 1K miles on the car.... and since i'm sorta new to this "vtec" you must excuse me and considering my Civic wasn't an SI model I didn't know much. (Then why the hell does everyone talk about 9K RMPS???)

No sweat SinD. Just listen to how that whole engine sound changes as you pass through 6K revs and VTEC kicks in, not to mention the way you're shoved back in your seat. Have fun and try to keep it between the ditches!
