that great gearbox on the S.
The gearbox has short precise throws but crunches all the time especially the 1-2shift at 9k grind and is more finicky than almost any other car out there but besides that it's great

Give it some time and you won't miss it that much anymore. Time heals all wounds. These guys will surely give you a ride every once in a while. I love my new car. It's fast and fun in a different way. I don't miss my high S2000 payments. I don't miss how dangerous it can be in the rain or slippery conditions. I don't miss how it had no room inside the cockpit or trunk. I don't miss those seats (comfortable for 30 minutes max and then your back hurts because of the lack of lumbar support not to mention that everybody wants to steal them along with your antenna) I don't miss cocking my head to the side looking for a stoplight to change. I don't miss the attention from the police even if you're not speeding. I don't miss getting reved on by everybody and their grandmother 24/7. I don't miss the haters who just yell at you randomly for no reason. I don't miss all of the fresh, young vagina that came at me non-stop( I was getting tired) I don't miss the bogging and slower than a Civic torque spot below 6000 rpm's. I don't miss replacing my rear tires constantly. I don't miss being paranoid that something is going to happen to it. I don't miss how the S2000 is pure evil and turns you into an agggressive and inconsiderate driver. I could go on and on and on. The S2000 is a fine car but it is not the greatest thing ever invented like some people like to believe.
Rich ,
give it some time and don't make any snappy decisions. If you still want another one down the road you have that option.
Wow! I don't think I have seen anyone slam a car on it's own forum in a long time.

Troy, Thanks for expressing your view again and again. We know your VW can beat a stock S, we know you have a lot of porblems with the S2000. Please give it up. You go beyond helping people to hating on the S2000 in almost every thread.

And I am not trying you start anything. You know you are second in my heat next ti Tidal!!!!

Rich, If you want to get another S, there is Blue in the U.S. now.

Jeff,
Sure sounds like it to me, no biggie though seeing as how I've given my share of ball busting to Mr. Sideways. You must be upset because he is your son. How do I "hate on the S2000" in almost every thread? I loved my S2000 and had a lot of fun with it. I was just giving Rich some perspective.

For someone who doesn't miss it much anymore, you sure spend a lot of time on the S2k forums???

I want the oldtimers to put a meet together and reminicse. I'll take you guys for a ride in the pony killer. I think some of the guys from the Sarasota group were hoping I'd switch to an NSX. While I definately would like to own one ,I couldn't see shelling $30,000 for a 91 or 92.

about the S: Best Damn transmission on the planet, fit and finish inside and out
light years ahead of most cars. I don't care what the car mags said about the early model S, it handled like a go-cart and I loved it even when the back end would break loose, but you could always count on it coming back.

Troy, I've been followed more times by cops in the goat than in the S. One bastard pissed me off the other night, just gave a guy a ticket, turned off his lights, gets up right next to me and I'm MMOB the we get to a red light and pulls up right behind me. The he sees some car going through a pink left turn arrow and go's after him WHEW!! Hey I thought yu were thinking of one of those new Civics. :
I'm going to sit tight for now and see what Honda is going to do. If nothing, I will get an S as a daily driver.

Oh BTW dave nice pic of my car, just about the best I've seen and you sure know how to rub salt in the wound Let me know if you coming down for the GP, I'll make a point of coming out to see you. isn't it getting close to the jvrabel spirited tarpon drive?
