Default My S2000 vs Curb/Light Pole

I had an unfortunate encounter with a light pole Saturday afternoon. It's looking almost certain that the car is going to be totaled. It was one of those "My S2000 just started randomly spinning" situations that seem to come up so often, haha. It was pouring rain, and my rear tires were well past needing to be replaced. I was actually going to get new tires at the time, after a few weeks of "I can make it just a little longer."

I was driving at constant speed around 45-50 mph (no acceleration) on Treeline Ave in Ft Myers. The backend hydroplaned and slid to the right, I countersteered and it slid back to the left and began to spin. I jumped the curb and hit a light pole which eventually fell across the roof of the car, crushing the convertible top. Among other things, the car has dents and dings all over it, the top is pushed down to the point that the seats cannot be moved, front bumper is damaged, there's a hole in the bottom of the motor, driver's rear tire is making a hard left hand turn, the passenger window is busted, and there's 2 inches of water in the car.

My girlfriend and I both got a decent bump and cuts on our head from the light pole/convertible top. She got a small cut on her hand and I got a slight burn from the airbag. Ultimately we both made it out of the crash as good as you could possibly expect to. We just went back today to look at the car and were both shocked by how bad the car looked.

Thanks to all the local guys that have offered up their support. Hopefully we can rob a few more parts off of it before it leaves us. I hope to get back into another S, but it's going to depend on how much the insurance jumps. Be careful out there, and don't neglect your tires!

Soooooooooo Sorry to hear about your mishap. BUT, definitely glad that both of you are okay. Hopefully, your insurance will take care of you as good as mine did. If they do, buy another S. Hope to see you soon..............

Forgot to mention. If anyone wants some Spa Yellow keyhole plugs or a yellow jacket speedometer calibrator shoot me an offer. If I don't get another S I'll have a custom sub box for sale too. I'm looking for a GPW AP1 (00-02 preferably) if you see any for sale let me know.

The headlights, taillights, rear bumper, seats, differential/gears, and testpipe have already been claimed. Damn buzzards swarming all over this thing I'm going to do my best to keep up with it, wherever she may go. There are definately a lot of good parts still on the car, I'm hoping they can all find a good home.

Thanks for all the support guys, I was expecting flames

That still leaves the dash trim ring for me...
