Do you know if I could easily put this engine in the car?

That all depends on you.... what kind of tools/equipment/experience do you have?

With that said, even if you have minimal tools/experience, anything is possible if you are willing to learn and buy proper tools, and take your time to do it... there is no better way of learning about your car. And there are a wealth of people on this board who would be willing to help you out, i'm sure

DEFINITELY buy a Factory Service Manual for your car though (not Haynes or any other... just Honda Factory... i think they are published by www.helminc.com still)

you would have to do research on what the F22 is going to need as far as electronics, ECU, harnesses etc

if the damage is not extensive to the crank, cylinders etc you could recondition you existing engine and even set it up as a high boosting engine if you are ready to pull the trigger on a turbo or SC.

if not, I would reccomend sticking with an AP1 powerplant unless something about the F22 appeals to you.

Get anew engine if you need to but you may run into too many issues both logistically and financially to convert to AP2 on your own.. I don't know the particulars of the swap so I am not the one to listen to.

Call S&R performance and see what they say.

one of the biggest challenges with a 2006+ F22 is the throttle-by-wire system. But, i can't think of anything too scary with that ... you're actually removing some peices of your AP1 to make it work (like a throttle cable/linkage). Getting the harness for the replacement engine would probably be a smart investment. Otherwise you may be running extra wires to compensate for it if the AP1 harness isn't already 'pinned' for it.

That ebay motor looks like a decent deal though considering the mileage. Good luck in whatever you decide ... it is never easy.

If you want a AP2 we can get you an OEM shorthblock for a 2.2 and put it in with all your AP1 stuff. No problem. A lot cheaper than you are looking at the E-Bay engine. Plus a 6mo. Honda Warranty!

Yeah...you need to get the car away from there.

If you are looking to go turbo and have the money ready to get started on that project, then now is the time. I've never heard of RPM in Gainesville...but I know of a chain of car repair places by that name. I don't think I would let them do a turbo on my car.

Shops with experience turboing s2ks that I would trust that are within towing distance are: S&R in Tampa; Central Florida Turbo in Orlando; and Stage6/MASE Engineering in Jacksonville.

Hopefully, you were planning on a high hp built motor turbo...if you were just looking for a basic turbo setup you would not normally need to do the bottom end rebuild that is going to be needed for your car.

got front rotors, slotted, cryo-treated for less than Honda would have done the stockers.

Going back this weekend for valve adjust and some other crap, and next weekend for timing chain, tensioners, etc.

When it's time to do shocks and/ or ANY performance mods, they are the ones I will call.

Great guys, great service, a wealth of knowledge, great prices.

i'm a little late with this ... but, no, i don't know of any shops here in Ocala or in Gainesville that i could recommend. I have one mechanic/friend who is REALLY great and would trust with OE builds (he's a Honda/Acura Mastertech).

I think the other shops are better qualified for the path you plan to take

Well I have been mute on S&R since I had a F20 rebuilt at their shop last year.

Service went well, and they got everything back together in a timely manner.

I had to move due to the military and drove my car up to Pensacola FL. Well I ended up with waterr in my oil. After checking the head studs three were loose for some reason????

After talking with Jeff, he pointed to my block may be the problem? I had a Darton sleeve block done before they built my last build. Its unknown wether my block was the problem. Though once I got to NM I had a shop here look at my motor. (Oh because I was not close enough to Tampa FL anymore there was not much they could do to look at my motor since I moved away.)
The shop here in NM tore down my motor and I was not happy with what was found. My bottom end was overtorqued and my mains 1 and 3 had grooves on the crank. I had the right size bearings according to the crank codes and block codes. I was told by S&R that I had the wrong bearings. Well even if my motor had not gotten water in the oil I would have been spinning main bearing and destroying a $4500 TODA stroker kit becasue they put thicker bearings in instead. (I am sure you guys at S&R remember that I had small oil shaving in my motor oil before I left. At least we know where they came from now.) If you don't, it does not really matter.

I talked to Jeff at S&R after the tear down, not telling him much. I just needed a piston build sheet that they did for new pistons that they ordered for me when I had them build my motor. He did not have it. Jeff and Bobby were just intrested in selling me Jeff's 2.4 stroker motor. When I was not intrested Jeff had to go, and that is the last I talked with him on the phone, or Bobby. I even thought we were friends.

Oh, if you have them build your car, becarful with them over reving your motor on a brand new fresh build.

Shops are shops. Friends are freinds. They just don't go together.
