Is there any good website that might give me a quick tutorial of some of the tools that help make pictures look decent without training to become photoshop expert? I have a copy but just know how to put basic filters on a such, my sig is pretty much the extent of my abilities haha.
Photoshop is an interseting program because there is always more than one way to skin any cat. Some people rely on filters to do effects others like to hand build the looks they come up with.
The trick with making things look good is knowing what filters do what and what techniques do what and know how to isolate certain things and put them into layers.
photoshop is easy to learn how to move around in but becomes more intricate once you get your feet wet. Like all artistic meduims you have to sharpen your craft as you go along.
Anyone can splash paint on to a canvas but only people trained and skilled at painting will make an aesthetic improvement to the canvas.
Dont be daunted or discouraged. if you are just learning Photoshop you have the chosen a good time to do so. you have missed all of the lesser versions of it and are at the era of great power in the program.
Depending on what version you have, try to find some books that correspond to your version or some of the "tips and tricks" books that are for photoshop in general and learn some techniques. you will have fun along the way too.
