Chip that thing and get some easy hp! I did not know those were rwd?
Nope, they're FWD...unless you get a GLX VR6 4MOTION, or a W8, then you have AWD. It does look like it's RWD from the longitudinal engine though.

But yeah, you can definitely find a bit more power out of those 1.8T motors.

The longitudinal placement decreases torque steer.

The first generation TT was sold in England during the last year of its model-life with a 1.8 T tuned to 250 bhp. Just like the older GT-R's, the cast iron block made the engines bullet proof and immensely "tunable". They were never the quietest under full throttle, but they had a nice throaty sound and had a very flat torque curve, attributable to their 5 valve per cylinder design.

The new 2.0 T is also a sweetheart, but I hear that the FSI, direct injection, makes tuning a real problem and difficult.

My 1.8 T is butter smooth after 95,000 miles. Just make sure that you only put in full synthetic oil and change it at least every 5,000 miles. The 1.8 T, in a few years of its life, had a tendency to gunk just like the Toyota 3.0 liter V-6 from several years ago.

Just like any engine, regular maintenance will yield a long service life.

The Passat wagon, especially the B5.5 and B6, are tremendously good looking cars, better even than the sedan versions.

Pretty soon I am going to need a new daily driver, and the new Passat CC is going to be at the top of my list:

Haha, yeah digging the car. No real plans for it as far as mods. Just a slight drop and some new wheels. maybe later down the road I will do more. For now though, it's working out just fine.

Do you find out about all the secret compartments? There are more undisclosed secrets on a Passat than on an S.
