newbie again
Thanks for the welcome and quick response to my previous questions, which I have more of.
So here is the intro: We ( my wife and I ) just moved here from Lititz, Pennsylvania. I have been autocrossing for about 30 years usually with the Phila Club or the Susquehanna region. And you would think by now I could avoid hitting cones but you would be wrong
I have run an Austin Mini, MGB, Formula, and lastly a 300zx. So I am really looking forward to the twisties with the s2k. I just traded in my 300, which I owned for 12 years, on a beautiful red 2005 s2k with low milage. If I had known that these cars were this good, I would have bought one sooner. When not doing all the land stuff, my wife and I sail to the Bahamas.
Ok.more questions: 1 Where is a good alignment shop in the Melbourne area?
2 I saw the Martin Club is having an autocross on Aug 11 at the iirc. Where is the iirc?
3. Are there any major issues with th 05 model? Do I need to tap the MAP occasionaly?

welcome to the area and congrats on your new car.
i'll let the track scca guys answer your questions regarding the events.
you don't need to worry about the MAP on your 2005 and there are no real issues with the later models. just avoid high rev clutch dumps and burnouts. i would suggest changing out your tranny fluid to the new Honda MTF tranny fluid (silver bottle, green label, white cap) also change the rear differential fluid with LE607.
check the FAQ in the Under the Hood forum for all the common questions and some great "how to's".

most of us do the scca races

where do you live?
You won't be able to make the Brooksville event because it is pre-register only, i.e. homeland security. But Deland is always a lot of fun.
break down of our tracks for ya:
Deland - it's an air strip, very dusty (the blow it off b/w runs) but usually pretty technical.
Brooksvile - air strip, very long and always keeps you at the top of 2nd gear... makes you pay for taking 3rd usually.
Sebring - in the paddock area of the track, plenty wide so the track is always pretty different. Very Fun.
Gainesville - at the race track test facility near the drag strip, our best track because they try to use the real track as much as they can, which has large constant, decreasing, and increasing radius turns. The best.
