NO GAS...On May 15th 2007
Don't pump gas on MAY 15th
In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places. There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.
If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) tell everyone you know and re post this wherever you think it will get read.

Everyone will just buy their gas on the day before or the day after. The same amount of gas will still be bought and the money grubbing gas companies will still get the same amount of money. If you really want to make a difference, convince everyone to start taking bicycles or public transport to work. Sorry, I've just been reading up on this lately......
like ozthebum said ... unless you make a concerted effort to reduce your use ... the only impact not buying gas on the 15th will be the logistics of supply chain. But, even then, they can adjust because it's being publicized.
Do you really wanna make an impact? Then have everyone call in sick to work for one day AND not buy anything. You won't be using gas to get to work, the employers (especially ones built around transportation) will use less gas due to lessened energy consumption, and just the overall absence of a work force will leave management scrambling to cover the essentials. If you don't purchase ANYTHING then you create a huge void for which everything is based (comsumption). THAT is how you send a message.
But, on a side note ... the price of gas is 'fine'. They can charge whatever they want for it (capitalism). Everybody just has to make a personal decision on the level of things they WANT versus things they NEED. As much as I LOVE driving my car (no secret ... just ask any Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa S2ki member
) I would gladly give it up if we all agreed to ride bicycles.
It's either that or we all start brewing our own ethanol/methanol.

this e-mail chain letter has been around for years. it will not impact anything. I like the idea behind it and support its message but the concept is flawed.
Still....never buy gas from CITGO............EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It never hurts to try.
I got another email to not buy from exxon and mobil for a whole year.
I have not bought from them in a while now.
When we unite we have power. We are so divided on things that is why we are all easy prey.
Just a thought.

Shell gas was independantly rated above and beyond all other gas companies a couple of years ago in purity and octane even above what they claim. For instance their 87 is actually closer to 90 octane and 93 is actually closer to 95 octane ect. ect.
most other countries like in Europe ect. are still paying much more converted so we still have some of the the cheapest gas .

most other countries pay anywhere from $8-10/gal converted so we still have the cheapest gas by far.
