It was a FABULOUS weekend! We had the first SUNNY day in weeks on Saturday for the morning country drive and photo shoot at Fantasy of Flight. Final count 21 NSXs and 9 S2Ks. We also had 1 Miata, 1 Toyota 4 runner, 1 911 twin turbo, and a few extra support vehicles (like my wife's Honda Odyssey).
The Fantasy of Flight was delightful. They had tours, passenger flights, simulators, not to mention plenty of open space to park cars.
Thanks for Keith D for coming up to say hello. He has brought back some of our T shirts for those who showed interest. We gave away tons of free stuff at Saturday dinner with 2 sets of brake pads, 22 Cybernation T shirts, 2 free Chin Motorsports memberships, 2 $50 off certificates for track time, 7 free oil changes, and free dyno runs for recent installed supercharged cars!
Thanks to all who came to the event. The next big event will be the weekend of Oct.26-27 in the Miami area.
Wish I could have made it down. I was just by that area Tuesday coming back to Jax from St. Pete. Keep me posted on future meets.
Great pics too. I was hoping to see a few more mods on the s2k's but no luck. Mainly rim choices. If things go right I'd like to replace my current rims (b/b in the thread included) and get something else. Not sure what. Currently, 17's and thinking of 18's. Daily driver though.
We have recently started monthly meetings up here. Actually our second is Friday the 5th. Any of you guys are always welcome to join.
Thanks for the well organized and fun event. We appreciate all your hard work with the gritty details. Is was great to see so many S2k's and NSX's on the road at one time and even better to be driving with them. Nice route!
The only reason I do these events is the smiles I see on participant's faces after they have driven some of the best roads in Central Florida. Most people can't BELIEVE there are that many hills and curves! There are even more roads west of Rt.33 but they are pretty deserted and if you go off or have mechanical difficulties it's a LONG way to civilization.
The photos at the Fantasy of Flight were AWESOME. THIRTY cars....2 million dollars worth of inventory. Mark Payton has a beautiful hi-res photo taken from a crane of the entire group. If you would like to purchase this his email is speed2burn@hotmail.com.
Good luck with your meetings in Jacksonville. I can't make Friday meetings because I rarely get done with work before 5 and the traffic leaving Orlando going east on I-4 is gridlock. A Saturday event would be MUCH easier and Deb Howard and I could drive up with some advance notice. She will be out of town until Aug.1 or so.
Regarding the rims, be carefull with 17 or 18 inch rims. You have very little sidewall and it doesn't take much of a pothole to bend your rims or give you a blowout. That could be VERY expensive. They are also much heavier than your stock rims and use up more hp to turn.
I actually have 17's now. Thinking of a change but we'll see in time.
Regarding Saturday meets. I think that will happen soon enough. Our first meeting had only 3 s2ks. We have another this Friday and I think we may have closer to 5 or 6. It's very easy to meet right after work on the drive home, etc. so that's why the Friday. Great way to start the weekend, etc. If I had to guess though, if we keep growing in attendance I'm sure something like a Saturday lunch would be more appropriate. Then more s2k's could make it including Perry, Gainesville, Daytona, and even some Orlando area from time to time.
Right now we're concentrating on the s2k's but if an NSX shows up that's pretty cool too. We're trying to avoid the civics and the like. No dis to those guys but this is the car they're trying to emulate. I guess the NSXers could say the same about us to some level though.
Thanks again for your time and effort in orgainzing an excellent event. I had a blast and always look forward to the next meet. We were blessed with awesome weather for our pictures/lunch and an exhilerating and safe run.
What more could you ask for.
Wei-Shen, Thanks 'Again' for organizing this great event! I'm sure everyone had as much fun as I did! The museum was prettey cool too! And A special thanks to those (Wynn) guys who lead the pack! Would have been totally lost with out them!!
