Offical SPGP Thank you thread!
Thanks to Shay, Rob & Melissa (The Neck) for all you do to bring this extraordinary event to the community. Your dedication to the community is truly amazing.
I grew up with Indycar racing and let me tell ya this event and our involvement is a real blessing. The exposure we have to the drivers and the event in general is incredible. These are some of the premier race driver/athletes in the world and we had them in our cars on Thursday night, we got their autographs, pictures, and face time with them. Not many folks get this kind of exposure.

The thursday parade has become the main event in my book. I have never done one...but that much face time with a driver has to be a cool thing especially for a talker like me.
My first year experience was with Micheal Andretti during the Sunday parade (up until last year we did not have a thursday parade). getting to talk with him was very very cool.
Dont get me wrong, I bet the parade drivers have fun on sunday as well being in pit row with all the comotion and all the fans in the stands and stuff.
Maybe next year I can get in on the Thursday parade when Joe offers to let me take his place....LOL JK
Joe was a good guy and gave up his car and his parade drive on Sunday so Shay's wife could get a really cool experience...you are a good man, sir and deserve a special thanks for that.
Snaps for Elroy (joe)!!!!

I agree, the Thursday Parade is the main event. You will never get as much face time anywhere else.

I even lent her my girlfriends hair tie. She was very thankful for that.
And yes... it was open mouth.
I have thanked everyone personally, but I have to say thanks again to Shay, Rob, Barry, Jeff and of course Melissa. Your all family in my book.

Thanks again to all involved. A great weekend and great people to spend it with. Hopefully if IRL brings in more manufacturers it wil remain the "Honda" GP of SP and we can continue to use our cars for this weekend.
To the lady who gave me grief about politely asking someone to not lean on teh cars I appologize that you don't understand where I was coming from. Let me explain again. I saw someone who I hadn't seen around all weekend leaning against one of our cars taking pictures. We had alot of people around checking out cars and getting a litlle too close. I assumed that your friend was in no way affiliated with anyone in the program since I had not seen them around the RV all weekend. I was not rude or harsh , I just said " Can you please not lean on the cars" and that was it. No hard feelings just looking out for others. I recently got my fendre dented by someone leaning on it so I was tryingto prevent that from happening to one of my S2K brethren.

I think Chip was referring to the "social" Petron tent on the Rv side
