Default Opinions on debadging...

I've always been a fan of clean, badgeless cars. My STi was naked, so is my father's WRX.

Anyway, I've been debating taking off the S2000 badges on the front fenders. problem is, that'd leave the side marker there all by itself and may look odd.

Anyone have comparison pics and/or opinions?

Thanks!

mine is naked. I added a blue H badge on the trunk but that is coming off this week.

I have Silverstone JDM badges for the front and rear but I am still debating if I am going to install them. I do have the S2000 logo on my crossmember cover but that is in the engine bay.

IMHO I do not like the H logos as they are on S's now. Ricks badges or JDm emblem look much better. The S2000 logos on the side are OK but I like the shaved look better.

the front and rear logos are drilled into the body so you would have to have the car filled prepped and painted afterward

Hope that you do not mind me "jumping in" and getting the opinion from the forum folks as well but, I was wondering what the team thought of taking off the S2000 side emblems and replacing them with the polished metal Spugen Emblems, being that I have the Spugen dual oval exhaust. Is it cool, stupid, geekie, etc.??

It is cool if you like it. I am getting the polished INGS+1 emblems eventually. I am not going to place them too prominently but they are still going to be on the car somewhere.

IMHO The Spugen emblems are a large placement logo for just having the exhaust. I would go that route if I had many mods from them. For me, going with the INGS logo is kosher because adding the body kit changes the whole car.

Not that you do not have the right or anything but when people go for badging on thier car there is usually a number of items that qualify the car (having numerous mods from that company). Like Saleen for Mustang, there is a lot of mods done to the car before it gets thier badging. People are just going to ask you how much Spugen stuff you have, more often after you install the badges.

an extreme example: if you say, painted your car to resemble the Spoon Race car, people would expect much more spoon stuff on your car than say an Xbrace and mirrors.

It is all good though go for it if you want them

Mine was naked for over a year and just put my black chrome badges on. I always liked the clean look and i wasnt to sure when i put the black chrome badges on. But i got used to em and love em. either way i think it doesnt make a difference. The car looks good with em or with out em. Cuz it is indeed an S2000!

Removing the S2000 on the side of the fenders does look very good. I took my off the first week I bought my S2k. It's a very clean look.

I think the sidemaker looks a little naked out there by itself. I'd get the black chrome if you'd do anything. Spugen is fine if you have any parts from them. Not ghetto IMHO. Just be prepared for everyone to call your car a Spugen.

I think OEM is a masterpiece in itself. But if you do anything, black chrome emblems are sweet.

Mugen is hot too.

Spoon Sports is beautiful.

I took mine off then replaced my OEM amber side marker to a 2003 Audi clear side marker. Not as big and cool looking! I don't have any badges on my car.

Did sorta the same thing to my old 240sx - bought Mercedes ML320 sidemarkers and fitted them out (had to file the hole bigger, but the overall shape was the same).

Great movie!

Been wondering...are tghere any sort of caps that can be used to fill the two holes in the trunk once the badge has been removed?
