Default Out of state tickets

OK, so i got a speeding ticket in NC for 86 in a 70. Apparently in NC anything over 80 mph is a MANDATORY court appearance

I'm trying to find a recommendation for a NC attorney, but in the meantime, anyone have any experience w/ something like this? Are points transferable to FL?

i dont know if its along the same lines but in january '05 i got a ticket in texas and two weeks later a ticket in florida and i did defensive for both since it was in different states and they didnt go on my record.

my texas ticket was 20 over 65 and my florida ticket was 40 over in a 70.

the point system is different in every state i believe so i dont see how it would be transferrable. but then again what do i know?

thats all i got.

The thing with points is that your insurance Co. knows all
Depending on who you have some Co. will allow one ticket a year with out an increase

Well, I hate to be someone who would even be in a position to post here on this topic but......

My little event in NC 3 months ago cost me three points. The Florida Legislature that I researched and located makes it very clear that there is no arrangement to have points removed from an out of state ticket.

The cost to travel back up to NC to defend myself was in no way going to offset the cost so, I just payed the fine. It was the only ticket in 25+ years. But as stated earlier, the insurance companies really are the ones to dictate the premium increses, if any.
