Default The Quarter Test

Well looks like the old penny test is out the window now and in the gutter. According to Tire Rack, the new tested and true method to test the tread of your tires is with the quarter!

The Quarter Test

And if you're of the mind to, you can still test the steel of your significant other's buns with the same quarter.

I think I am going to stick with my test. When you see cords, start thinking about getting new tires

Yeah....my 300zx TT, I went through $1000 a year in tires. I tried to eek every last mm of tread out of those babies. They handled great as slicks but a mist of rain became down right scary!!!! Even in the dry turbos coming online in second would break the tires free.

This could also be a way to sell more tires. I wonder what the tire manufacturers suggest about the quarter test.
