Default Questions?

1) What is a bump steer kit and what does it do?
2) Are CR shocks better than my AP2 shocks and about how much would they cost for all 4?

just curious

Bump steer is the tendency for the car to steer when going over a bump (as the name implies). Pretty much when it has suspension travel the car will try to steer itself without your input. A bump steer kit is usually for lowered cars to correct the tie rod angle to reduce this bump steer.

IMO nothing worth spending money on as I have yet to encounter this issue and I'm pretty slammed. I drive my car like a bawse and never have any issues. Just my $.02

Its more for track cars to fixe their bump steer curves, but yes it does make a difference.

bump steer is the change in toe during the suspension travel of your wheel. when you lower the car the toe changes in a way that was not designed for in the car. a bump steer kit returns the toe to the normal travel. note that simply installing a bump steer kit is not proper. you must determine the change in toe and adjust the bump steer kit accordingly. that said most people get away with simply installing it.

The CR suspension is a little stiffer than stock. It was designed to make track times a little faster. It makes for a rougher ride but slightly better cornering. I daily mine and it doesn't bother me too much. Here are the prices that I found back when I did my conversion: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/629909-cr-conversion/

I'm running AP1 struts with Tien S techs on my AP2 and it is a great match. Def a firmer ride than stock, but I cannot complain.

Both a waste of money. FYI I run eibach springs with stock struts(156k miles) and a tanabee front sway bar. I have won several autoX events with this simple set up. The two advantages to the CR are the 140 treadware tires it comes with which makes a huge difference and at high speeds the rear wing along with the front bumper provide downforce. 140 treadware tires can knock a full second off of your autocross times over standard street tires
