Default Radio install in my S

I just spent the better part of a weekend installing my Kenwood TM-742 radio in the car. It was a pain in the butt, but it's nicely mounted on the dash. I mounted the radio and triplexer (muxes 3 signals onto one antenna) in the spare tire space.

I have #8 wires run from the battery to the trunk with inline fuse holders. The speaker is a perfect fit and just "snapped" into the roll hoop on the drivers side.

The hole for the antenna went ok, but it still may need some reinforcement underneath it.

here are some pics

Are you kidding? You'd think there would be a better way to do that... Is it in HD?

It's a very highend setup, the whole radio, speaker, antenna and triplexer are well over $2000.

If i was not into radio I would have never gotten my job and been able to afford the S in the first place I did not have the radio in the car a week ago when I drove up to Ohio, it was a boring 30 hours in the car with no one to talk to.

That sounds like fun.....I wish I had the time to learn morse code so I could talk on the cool radios.

nice install. I too worry about the support for the antenae. Perhaps you could put a little backing plate inside to reduce the stress on the trunk itself.
