From: Behind you. Yep, I'm there.
My dad and I were heading up to meet with Zacksdad ( Scott) this AM. I do the standard oil check, fluids and look things over. Fire the car up and let it warm up and after a cigeratte, ready to drive.
Well no big hot dogging, a little fun in between gears, nothing big and exerything moving along just fine.
When I get up to the I 75 merger from I 275, I noticed the oil pressure droping slowly. Not a good sign, I pull off the freeway and shut off the car. Well I have smoke, not sure of the smell, under the hood. Pop the hood and I smell burnt coolant. I cannot see the source, but as I look under the car I see coolant all under it and all the way back to the exhaust. I thought it was oil till I touched it.
I see spay all over the trunk, bumper and the licsence plate. I touch it and it is just water, no oil.
I check the oil and it is fine, no water in the oil. I check all the radiator hoses, no leaks.
Back to the exhaust. I check the water cool lines to the turbo. The return line has coolant dripping very slowly off it.
I pull off the charge pipes, and find a light coolant residue in the intake side. I find coolant coming out of the exhaust pipe.
So I call a tow truck and will get under the hood yet again to find the problem and try to fix it. (one can hope right)
James (vvs) and Eric stop by. They see me from the southbound I 75 and come up to see if I am ok. I appreciate them stopping and offering help.
Thats what I like about our crew here. Even my Dad was impressed with the offer of assistance. I all ready had a flatbead on the way. So they head off to O Town.
Get the POS (yes I can call it that) back to the shop.
Find out bottom end is still good. Head gasket blew again. I swear I will be good at changing F 20 heads real soon. Until we get the turbo off will not know for sure if it was a line that broke, turbo blew, or what.
From talking with inline pro the turbo I have (35R) should not do that. Unless the turbine housing cracked, which they seriously doubt, I should not have coolant in the charge pipes.
So lots of fun solving this fricken mess.
After a lot of
over the past year I have not made up my mind what to do.
So after my wife and I talk about our money pit, we will decide our best course of action.
We are both flustrated by all of this.
Will post updates as they happen.

Yes, on the way back from Eric and I said " I hope Raven is not still on the side of the road."
Stick with it man. It will all work out.
