Default RAW's S2k 2JZ "Quickest and fastest Honda S2k"

Might not be F20/F22 powered but it is the quickest and fastest Honda S2000 in the US (might be even in the world), own by Charles Walker, built by RAW Racing and tuned by Chrispeed.

8.22@172mph at the last NSCRA event.
The video show's the 8.25@175mph pass

somebody explain this to me:

8.22 @ 172mph then 8.25 @ 175mph

3/100 of a second SLOWER while going 3 mph faster

even if reaction times were different by a considerable margin....would not the 3mph make up for 100ths and 1000ths of seconds

<--- never fully understood track times

Rob, he probably had better shifts on the 2nd but spun at the beginning...a few feet of burnt rubber slows your overall time down but 10 feet of slow has almost no impact on MPH you get there at.

That's also why MPH is a more true 'car' number and the time is a better 'driver' number.

Higher MPH cars tend to be less about traction ('hole shot') and more about horsepower.

I've seen 'hole shot' cars run 10sec quarter mile times while only reaching about 110mph.

Here's another way of looking at it ... if you're traveling at 100mph ... you clear a quarter mile in just 9 seconds ... not that you ever go that fast

The time difference is also relative to other vehicles such as an AWD vs RWD. The AWD vehicle Might have a faster ET down the track but the RWD will have a faster Trap speed. This is because the AWD car can launch good and start off faster but the RWD car will reel him back in the end.

He could have had a better launch during one run, lost traction during another shift, or possibly even did stay straight.

Have you guys seen the CFT S2000 on you tube? you think that can beat the one in this video? It beat a 1000=hp supra with its 880whp? on the actual F20C engine... Any opinions?
