This one is for sale in England. I have been checking on Importing them but I need a better contact. You probably have to pull the engine and tranny and register it as a kit car.

What, kit car how's Lotus selling the Exige/Elise in the US then?

The S1 doesn't meet most DOT standards so titling may be difficult. The S2 is built for the US and it's standards.

Wow, I didn't know that...I haven't done an in depth research on the Elise's history. I ain't paying no $80 on a book... Now isn't that a hassle to have to import the car as a kit car, and doesn't he value also drops?

P.S. Have you check with your insurance about a kit car coverage?
