St Augustine to Little Rock to Atchison Ks to Ok City to Dallas and back to St Augustine...
i tossed in a business meeting in OK City... pretty interesting stuff... i saw 3 S's.. on the whole 3770 miles.... two going and one comming back.... nice pink rims, they stood OUT on that Berlina
started off with a weird thing.. was along I 10 around alabama and this ricer wizerd up.. stayed beside me... hot rodded itself and when i looked over these two guys said wanta race, i declined and stayed at cruise control... they stayed beside an reved an jockied about.. i stayed in cruise.. and looked over at them again.. and one knodded his head and smiled and raised his hand an there was some sorta Badge.. i'm guessing cop.. i laughed.. they zoomed off... idk.. did i pass some bait an race an bust... idc... they didn't bother...was one of a few highlites...
most the drive was just nice an scenery... however upon arriving where I knew the Nickerson Farms was suppose to be, had been Forever.. it wasn't and all this new to me built up area looked vaguely like i'd never seen before... surprizes didn't stop.. i was going to drive this river road i remembered.. and low an behold it was road closed.. an the detour.. was a back road called " M " ok.. now i had been on M like some 25 years or so... but didn't remember beans bout it... and OMG it was a blast... no one was on it.. and it was very narrow.. and... it had crested hills.. i had been cruising above posted.. toped this lip and heard the front tires chrip.. they'd left the ground.. wow... what a roller coaster// hill after hill i was leaping then there were several slow down mofo jam 1st throttle an toss the back cause that road just went L and hard.. there were S's an switch backs cutting through these various farm land... it was an incredible drive so i did it thrice up, back and up again... and then arrived in Atchison kansas... well i hadn't seen this place in forever and no one i went looking for was anywhere to be found... thinking ok, i'll just head out of town and down towards Ok City.. i saw the " Sonic" it was saturday night and there were the Atchison Hotrodders.. a bunch a old guys like me.. except they all had fords an chevys.... i pulled in an one guy said... hey... you got your AC on... i looked up at the sky and said... yep... and they asked me to park an join their hang... turned out.. one was my old postman.. a couple were cousins of people i did know and it was cool.. the postman started off by telling me.. he remembered my old trans am and it's sad death at the hands on my first X wife... she flipped it... he told the story like it was just a few days ago.. they looked over the S.. they had no S's in town... a few ricers and they said, yea they make alot of noise but they don't go very fast... and one rolled by and darn if it didn't.. sounded loud an ricer and slugbutt... it was funny... so they asked if my Ricer was any better then that... ( this might be the one time I would have loved to have had anyone of the turbo super S's we all know of ).. but... my little S did alright and got praised by a bunch a Motorheads.. they all stood around and asked questions... and i felt included.. and they talked trash on the ricers.. but.. gave the S some major praises... some guy i don't know asked if i'd take on his ride.. he had a chevy 350 and a 4 barrel.. i don't know about rear or much.. it was semi built.. had headers an pipes.. heck i only have header an CAI... so i told him i'm not a quarter mile car.. and we did a small run.. i ate his lunch and he was impressed... i am so sure anyone of the member's cars here would have eaten that Chevy... he spent to much time making noise an not going anywhere while the little S just digs in a buries the tach accellerating, you guys know, they hadn't a clue... later i told him i hadn't even gotten to fourth... there was a nice 64 like stingray... and a Bug with a pair a 4 barrels and a chevy 350 stuffed in it.. it sounded impressive... that was my best evening.. the rest was driving.. and that in itself was sweet... i did get to see some family there.. and my mom's mom's house... had a hamburger at a place called Homers... it opened the year my mom was born and is still in business and still makes an awesome burger... i got a tee shirt.... and then on to OK City.. I had a business meeting arranged for monday and it went very very well, some of you who know me.. they said Yes.. they're starting paper work and we signed... hadn't signed with anyone since that NC event years ago... so i may end up in OK in the long haul... after the meeting i decided just to head home.. and took a path to Dallas an down over to I 20 to Jackson Mississippi and then nice back roads to Mobile... all in all a nice safe drive except... somewhere outside of Panama City area.. some lady in an SUV... in the fast lane and i was calmly going around her an she put on a blinker an came over.. i was on the horn and waving HAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy.......... she was on the phone.. i was in the shoulder an moved out... an then looked like that caught her attention and she jerked her wheel.. i was already out on the road again and i waved.. no i did not flip her off... got back to St Augustine around 8:00,, was a great trip..

Thanks for sharing that with us! A word of advice: try to replace your valve retainers with AP2 retainers. Apparently the most common way the F20C fails is one of those weak AP1 retainers fails and a valve drops into the engine. I keep thinking that if someone just swapped them out how long could the engine go?
parts of it were fantastic.. i'm totally upset losing the memory card in the nikon...
bout 3800 miles... got some yokohama Advan S4's comming tomorrow... thinkin i'll go for a ride...
you've seen how crazy my hair is... Oooooooof course it was Top Down... even had a small rain squawl.. and by the time i pulled over with the slipping on the road from tread being worn down and finding a not pouring area, under a bridge, it stopped raining and i just left it down to air out...
