Default Rocket Fuel

This is a repost to a link I put up in another thread a while back. You guys using boosted cars might benefit from the use of higher octane fuel either not available in your area or just too pricey to use everyday. This might also be of interest for anyone that wants to make premium plus out of regular.

Anyway here is the link

Toulene Link

Its from an Audi site I read.

Excellent! I wonder how much it will boost my octane with the methanol injection?

That's been around a long time. Most racers also add a little marvel mystery oil to the mix for lubrication.

Honda until it became illegal ran it's f1 cars on it for years.

There has been some discussion in here on the long term effect of a toulene mixture upon certain seals and gaskets in the S2000. I don't know what the resolution was.

The trick is to find a paint store where you can buy 5gal buckets wholesale.

Toulenes a big thing with the audi guys.

Jcarlton Probably give you even more ponies with methanol but you'd have to retune your aem to take advantage of it from both the octane and the water injection. Same with other S's, your car needs to be tuned to take full advantage of it.

I put one quart of Toluene ( correct spelling on the actual can although I've seen it spelled 4 different ways now ) in my gas tank and let me tell you woooooooooooooooooooooo one bar of turbo boost has never felt stronger!!!!!!! I also seem to be getting awesome gas mileage so far as a result. I'll let you guys know how many miles I get on my tank. I usually get about 300. I got it at a local mom and pop paint and hardware store for $5.

I was doing some reading up on Toluene and it seems to be a pretty safe octane booster since it doesn't contain any lead and won't harm O2 sensors and actually is a large component in regular gasoline. I just wouldn't go overboard and put too much per tank. Some people put a gallon or more in a tankful and that's too much for me to feel good about. This isn't something I'm gonna do all the time I just wanted to try it. I now have 100 miles on this tankful and I've almost used a 1/4 tank of gas so far.
