back at the house.. watchin on speed channel ( thanks Robert, I found it )... watching views from the blimp I showed my mom an dad where you guys are... Mom said... you sit THAT close.... i said yea.. and it's ten times louder then tv...
Great race by the DP's. Rene, sorry to see Speedsource get a bunch of bad luck. Speed Channel did a little segment on driver changes and I believe you got a half-second of TV time
Although I wish I was down there track side , I did manage to watch ~12 hours of coverage here at home
As always ... a HUGE thank you to Jason (Paha Koira) for being so gracious with his RV space and the always well assembled viewing deck! I think the S2ki community could really rally around this amazing opportunity. A few bucks from each of us (rumor has it they take payment of Newcastle, Knob Creek, and firewood too ) and this could be a great way to 'rally the troops' ... and feed em too
Seriously Jason ... regardless of what everyone else decides to do next year ... i will definitely cook some food on the grill for you guys accompanied by Christina's amazing pasta salad (trust me ... it is really that good). Let's be sure to stay in touch early next year to make sure this all happens
The end of the race, for which i have NEVER stayed for, was well worth the wait! What an amazing finish ... especially for Brumos Porsche and even MORE so for Hurley Haywood! Having 4 DP cars on the lead lap and the top 3 within just a few car lengths ... wow ... perfect.
Here are a couple of quick snaps from my little point-n-shoot.

Bill Auberlen/Matt Bell won the Koni Challenge Fresh From Florida 200 in the No. 96 Turner Motorsports BMW M3. Next was Hugh Plumb/Jack Roush Jr. then Kenny Wilden/Dean Martin both in Ford Mustang FR500Cs.
Tony Buffomante and myself (Billy Johnson) finished 4th in the No. 18 Motorsport Technology Group Porsche 997.
Billyj Great job that was fun, we had the dogleg stands porsche crowd Cheering for you as you worked your way to the front. Before the race we came by the garage to see you but you weren't around.
