i think the process requires the daily 'rolling code' from Honda Corp. It is usually a very specific number/code that is needed to enter into the tech's hand-held device to add a key.

I could be wrong ... but, that is what was needed to switch my ecu. The tech used a hand-held programmer (special Honda software) along with a master code from Honda Corp. With that he was able to add my key to my old 2002 computer.

My buddy can do this for less than full price ... let me know if you need it done and can make the trip to Ocala.

I just had my keys done like three weeks ago .... the S2000 master key vs the regular key that is black has no special difference besides "s2000 written on it"
I had only one valet key so i order three additional keys which cost me like $30.00 each. The programming part costs you $90.00 which isnt an option. So its all done at the same time so i had a total of four keys, the regular keys does everything ... start the car, open the so called glove box, and the trunk ..... not worth the $160 or whatever it was for the master key, dont waste your money ...... I went to the honda dealership in delray, between glades and atlantic avenue .. good service there ...
