Default S2K Withdrawal

Well, I thought I'd update some people on my s2k revival.

The car was in a recent accident and is now in the process of being fixed. The insurance company evaluated the car and it's now at about 9K in damage. The body shop also noted that there was no frame damage in the accident, which is awesome. I need a bunch of new parts, but won't have the list in my hands until this week.

The order for parts began last friday and shop quoted me 55 man hours to fix. That boils down to 3-4 days to have parts sent in and about 2 weeks to do the work. Hopefully I'll be back on the road by the end of this month. But for now I'm stuck in a PT Cruiser....nooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Hey John, good to hear its not totaled though. If the frame wasn't damaged you should be A-OK!

I'm just glad you weren't hurt. Maybe you can talk to Dave about adopting his S2k.

Glad to hear things are moving along for you! One thing though, the insurance estimate is usually just visible damage, make sure the body shop does a complete "teardown" to find any hidden issues. I went through quite a saga with the RSX if you have any questions PM me. What bodyshop are you using?

Wow, we'll have to have a speical party for you and Scott when you are both up and running again. If you need a fix, there are several S2Ks around for you to try out. Glad to hear you will be keeping the red color . How were the headlights, will you have one naked and the other stock now? Keep us updated so we'll know when to bug you for a meet!

Good luck, keep your eyes on the work being done if you are able to.

I have a supplement attached to estimate, so that if they find any more damage during the repair process they can then add to it.

The car is over at Crown Collision. I got a tour of the bodyshop and it appeared very top notch. They had a full paint shop on hand also.

Unfortunately, my headlights will look definitely weird. They'll be one clear and one orange. I'll have to fix that once I get the car back.

Hi John

Glad to hear that all is going well with the repairs. I know the wait is driving you crazy, but hang in there. When you get on the road, the Daytona guys (Chiung, Brad, Don and myself) will have to come over and christen it with you. Will give us a excuse for an overnight trip. Of course if your in the Daytona area let us know. Take care and hope to see you soon.
