Sad news
Well as many of you know my Pop has been in a bad way for awhile. He has had his ups and downs for the last 6 weeks and we were told to be prepared. The last 2 weeks have been good and we were thinking we were going to have him home for Christmas but, we got the call from Health South (the place he was at for treatment) that he passed in the night
He was 87 years old and he was a viable person up to about 7 weeks ago when he started going down. He still drove and wheeled and deled to make a buck and to stay active. He was a character to say the least
He served in the Army during WWII and was in Normandy Germany at that time, he seen a lot of action.
The thing that got him the most about being over there was, all the young GI

Sorry to hear that Puddy. Sounds like your Pops and my Grandad could have been good buddies back in the day. Mine never made it over to Normandy but he fixed the WWII patrol boats and stuff that got shot up. In any event in my opinion your Pops lives on in your fond memories.

Sorry to hear this Ben, but I'm glad you got to spend the time with him that you did. As a member of the military I have the deepest respect for those who have served, and even more so for those who served in times of war.

Ben I am sorry to hear of your loss...
You may find solace in that your father had a rich full life and that you were a tremendous part of it.
Keep your chin up, and may you find strength in the days to come.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. Sounds like he lived life to the fullest. Americans who lived through and fought in WW II truly deserve being called "America's Greatest Generation" because their service and sacrifice indeed saved the free world.

I'm very sorry about your loss, God bless his soul. I'm very sure he filled your heart and life with love. I lost my father when he was only fifty years of age many years ago and he still does.
Miss you dad

Sorry to hear Ben. That is great to hear that you got to see him on his last night here on Earth. Now you can always remember that last laugh for years to come. May he be in a better place.
