Yes, the SCCA is still around and I'm the guy you need to talk to about it. For years I designed and set up all the courses at Bronson and wrote articles for the newsletter.
We do not have a site at this time but we may have one or even two sites in the works. I hope you've found a new hobby.
Most of the local guys weren't into autocrossing but a few tried it now and then. There were three of us with S2K's that never missed an event and we had a blast.
Too bad you couldn't join us for dinner last night at Fire Mountain. Maybe you can next month.

Would you believe one of the sites is Bronson? It would be a short term deal and it would take a great deal of work to clen it up. As it is now all you have to do is almost look at it to get a flat tire.
The other site is in Mobile and while it isn't ideal since it's on a main road and near churches it could work.

Hi every one my name is Ed. I just moved out to the area and recently purchased my s2000. I would love to get into some SCCA style racing. I'd also like to know if you guys have any clubs or groups looking for participants. Any ways.

The Navy has said no to the use of Bronson by any car clubs.
We're still working on other options.
mbe421, welcome to the area and hang in there, we'll come up with something.

I'm a local scca regular here in the dixie region. Our site is located just north of Dothan, AL at a helicopter pad. It's known as hunt field and our autox is held the second sunday of each month. I could provide a map or more info if needed. Best of luck finding a new site in the gulf coast region also.
