Default Shaving tires

I have 1 new tire and 1 with about 1,000 miles on it. I was wondering if I could shave the new down to the level of the old one. Any thoughts on if it can be done and who might do it?
Thanks

how much wear could happen in a 1000 miles?

enough to cause concern for the new tire and uneven wear???

<---not educated in tire wear, is it that sensitive ?

At the time I was having alignment issues but they've since been corrected. The set I'm running since the fix have worn perfectly even, but now they are nearing replacement and I've got this other set that I'd like to possible use.

I would be more concerned about tread depth difference. Take it to a Discount Tire and have them measure the depth.....

Slo, I have a depth gauge that allows me to tell how much the difference is between the 2. It's enough to notice from just looking at them, I guess I just don't want to put them both on and have the car handle funny...
Which Discout Tire do you recommend?

i would think you could buy another New tire to match the New tire cheaper than paying someone to shave a single tire. plus who shaves tires besides race teams?

That's just it, I have no idea what it costs or for that matter who even does it. That's why I posted this, to get some idea of my options. I could easily go buy a new tire, but if you looked at the used one you'd say I was crazy
