i love stepping out to watch the launches... coolest one i ever saw so far was a night launch... sitting on the beach... another that was more of a surprize was on our way to a curise ship along I 95... didn't know it was going up.. and there it was in my windscreen... yes.. god speed...

i agree ... that is one of my goals ... a night launch! I hear it is an amazing sight!

I had the same scenario as you ... was driving down i95 one afternoon and couldn't understand why everyone was pulling of the road to look in the sky ... until i FELT the car shake and looked up myself! Truly amazing.

ahhhhh you have no idea how bad i wanted to go. its been a dream of mine since i was a kid to see it go up. i work over 2 and a half hours away over in leesburg and i was watching the weather all day and it didnt look like it was gonna go. i didnt want to risk losing money leaving work when it probably wasnt gonna launch, and wouldnt u know it it cleared up an hour before.

i looked at the schedule and endeavor is supposed to launch march 11th at night! so i have one more chance before i move back to PA.

if you go on nasa's website for the next launch in march (endeavour), it says 2:15am, and i think i remember them launching at night once before even after the columbia accident... i really hope i get to see it go up either way.
