Skyline
im thinking of geting one by trading in a scion tc for it the car is worth more than i owe but do you guys think its a good idea to buy one in the states or TRY to get one imported any help will be great.
Pretty sure you cant legally import a skyline anymore. Sure there are "ways" around this, but to be a LEGAL car...nope.
So get a car that is already in, titled, and registered. Last time I looked an r32 was $30K+, cool car tho...
Almost got one myself.

Thats the thing thou, you can get a "legal" skyline in Florida, but thats about it. Great thing about florida is that theres no smog laws here and the car importing here is so lax they don't need to take out the engine and ship it in two different boxes. My friend's R32's where US Legal, but didn't meet smog laws states
i found a nissan web site that gave me deataled info on geting one imported there are 3 ways 1- get it shiped over from wherever you find one and get it shiped here to florida or georgia thats the onley two states that allow this car to be shiped here whole the- 2nd is to ship it over here in parts and title it as a kit car -3rd is bring it over as a show and track car and if you do it the last way you wont be able to title it also and a big one is you have to find a ri-registerd importer and it also depends on the year you would what to get if its 1998 and older it need to go thru some tests and smog req. i was thinking of geting a r34 gtr or gtt also thinkig of a r33 v-spec tomarow ill post that info here when i get home

I think you need to really figure out which Skyline you want to get (and figure out if you really want to get one or if it just seems like a cool idea to you). I have a friend who works on Skylines and there are not many guys around who can work on them properly, parts are a b**ch to get, etc. etc.
That being said, I would first try to buy an already legalized Skyline in Florida or Georgia before importing one; there are a lot of things that can potentially go wrong with importing cars that can either delay the car's arrival or damage the car, plus you can't look at the car first, you have to wait a while for it to get here, and then you have to go through the hassle of registering the car yourself.
