SPGP...Meet?
I'm still working on this part of the fun. We've had events at Hard Rock the past 2 years but so far this year they're saying they don't know if they'll have anything major like that right before the HGPSP. The two reasons I've been given so far are the economy and that now we're the season opener thus they won't be traveling up from Homestead the week prior and have their base at Hard Rock leading into the main event. So...I'm working on it. They are practicing this week in Homestead though and I would venture to say if this is the season opener then that's MORE reason to have some big marketing push going on for this event. Nothing so far but I'm in contact with the national and local organizations trying to get something stirred up whether it's a meet and greet, photo shoot, whatever....something to get as many decal cars together as possible. We'll see and I'm on it.

Last year didn't work out the way I expected but that's because I assumed (my fault) that the new guy at AGR/IRL had "the file" on what the prior guy and I did. When I wanted a repeat of '07 he jumped all over it. He had already proven himself very capable on other projects in my book so again, I assumed (ass out of you and me) that he knew how to handle the photo shoot/meet and greet. He didn't.
The first red flag happened as I was literally 10 minutes from Hard Rock, got a call from him asking if I was bringing a photographer. I was like WTF? It was downhill from there. The camera lady was nice but clueless and she didn't do crap to arrange the group shot. No organization with the drivers which did nothing to help Danica's mood that night. Oh well. Live and learn. HGPSP has always proven to never assume they will do anything right twice. AGR/IRL has always, other than the photo shoot, proven to exceed my expectations which I tend to set rather high. Clients expect that of me so I tend to do the same which it's always the healthiest thing to do but tis' what it tis'.
Emails and calls are flowin' so hopefully I can conjure up some events for the S-crew this year. Still thinking about wearing the kilt Saturday with Grant. I'd love to pose a shot with Dario in that get up.
