Well let me first say this, my S2K search has found me at a Honda dealer looking new. I really wanted a used White/Tan, but how on earth can you pass up $28K Out The Door on a new one?
So I got to looking at all the colors,
Black - Current car is black, won't do that again.
Yellow - Too Bright....
Red - I'm not a "Red" guy...
Laguna Blue - Nice paint color, but a little "wow" for my taste...
It's come down to...
Silverstone - Been around a while, seems like every S2K I see is this color, it's a little blah, but it does look nice.
White - Love the paint, think it's the best looking color in the car, but as I said, I'm not a red guy, and that Black/Red interior is BRIGHT.
I think I could "possible" get used to the interior, but the carpet is very "WOW" when you look at it...
How hard is it to swap the carpet panels out? Is there a resale at all for the red carpet, or is this just going to cost me a lot of money?
Anyone think I could get the honda dealer to swap the interiors of the cars over?
easiest thing to do regarding the red carpet is order a set of black floor mats. you can get OEM black mats or Ricks/Muz for even more coverage. the black mats really tone down the red rug.
not a great shot but here is mine with Ricks mats black w/red trim.
i wanted the Red/Black interior because basic black was just too boring on a white car. ( i had a 2006 GPW with all black interior) i agree with you that the red carpet had a wow factor but it's really toned down with the black floor mats.
you could do a custom set up with the seats or you can always find someone willing to trade all black for the black/red combo.

Gotcha, my worry was no matter what color car I got the all black would be very "blah", especially combined with Silverstone.
Did you ever price out swapping the carpets? Is this something hard to do?
Those mats really do a good job of toning it down, but they are also quite pricey i've found, especially "wool" ones...
takes 4-8 weeks to get your stuff assuming they have it in stock. my side mirror was in stock and took 5 weeks via snail mail. other than that they are easy people to deal with.
