Default Temp higher than before

I've noticed that my car is running slightly hotter than when I bought it. It only used to get up to 2 bars and now showing 3 consistantly. I have a cai & test pipe, could either of these cause it to run hotter?

Also I noticed over the weekend when driving with a buddy a smell that I thought was my serp belt melting a sort of rubber burning. Checked teh belt and nothing. Checked around the motor and all appeared to be fine. No leaks or obvious signs of damage. I put the car away and haven't brought it out since. I'm going to get into it this weekend while doing a trans/diff flush. Come to think of it the smell was a cross between burning rubber and old trans fluid. My trans fluid is only about 13k miles though.

Any suggestions?

Once cool, how is the fluid level in the radiator? Is there sufficient fluid in the overflow as well?

And mine runs at 3 bars also.

3 bars here also. Check your radiator around the cap for a crack.

Hmm ran at 2 for a really long time when I first got it. I'll check teh rad tomorrow.

As far as electrical burning... Dear God no! I had a Porsche that was the king of electrical fires and I don't want to deal with that ever again. Is there a common electrical short that I never heard of?

No new clutch.
