Default Tire always goes flat

We replaced a tire because it had a leak on the sidewall, and the low pressure sensor indicator light lit up. Now, after $130.00, and only two days the same thing happened. What could make a tire go lose air like this? Is it the alloy? It's only on the driver's side rear tire.

Ideas you mechanical gurus out there?

I would have someone take it off and submerge the ENTIRE thing in water.

Not all tires seal at the bead point correctly ... and a little debris or deformity is all it takes to allow a little air to trickle out. The more typical scernarios are valve stem (the assembly or just the valve) and foreign objects that have punctured the tire. Lastly ... the tire may have an issue with ... wait for it ... bladder control

hth

good luck

Where on the sidewall was it leaking from on the last tire? 9 times out of 10 its the valve stem; if that doesn't work it may be time to threaten the tire with litigation.

I work at honda in Jax, have them submerge the tire in water, the valve stem may be leaking or the seal(bead) of the tire may be bad, either a bad mount or a bad tire.

Diagnosis: valve stem. Fixed.

I did have an alloy rim that had a hole about the size of a hair that caused a leak. I was pretty amazed to find a hole in the midle of the rim but sure enough the soap and water bubbles found it for sure
