Default Totaled S2k?

Today I was driving outside of Orlando on Avalon rd and came upon all these flashing lights, rescue truck, fire truck, wrecker, etc. When I got closer I saw a red S2k on the side the the road. Upon closer inspection, I saw that he had come in contact with something very hard! great amount of front end and suspension damage. Was that anybody from the S2ki group??

Yeah we were all on our way to one of the events for the super meet and he slid off on the turn. I was a few cars behind him. Hes a great guy. I feel really bad for him. If you drove by a little sooner, you would have seen all of us.

I was wondering if he was part of the meet or not. I didn't get to go this time, but it sounds like a good time was had by all (except for John). Next time for sure...

John is a great guy and we feel for his loss. Thank goodness he wasn't hurt. That's most important. It's wierd looking at the nearly 150 pics we took at the Meet and seeing John and his car. Big smiles. Glad he's okay. Here's a thread to some Super Meet pics. If I recall correctly I didn't upload any of John but you'll see his red in there pre-Sunday drive. Too bad, so sad.

John if you catch this. Hope you're back out there soon and we're all thankful you're okay!

Hello all,

I thought it was time for me to chime in on this subject. First off, I'd just like to thank everyone in the Florida S2K group on their amazing generosity and compassion on such a unfortunate experience. Many people who I never even met, and many who I knew went out of their way to assist me (you all know who are).

Well, the story goes I was heading down a straighaway going into a sharp right turn. The back wheel felt as though it lifted a bit and then lost traction. The tail kicked out and I began to counter-steer. This unfortunately had no effect and I angeled toward an electrical pole. The entire right front corner of my car back to the door was caved in and crushed. I thankfully was not hurt in this ordeal.

Things are now in motion to estimate the car's damages at the body shop and evaluate my options. Either way totalled or fixed I'll be back in an s2k in hopefully a month.

Thanks again to everyone in this community for a great weekend and helping me in my time of need.

--John

That's great to hear that you will still be going with the S2K either way! Can you still use your exhaust if you get a new S2000? You don't want to have to start all over again with your mods. If you get a new one, are you staying with red?

Good luck with whatever happens to your car. Still happy you are okay and haven't had any after accident pains.

Glad to hear you're okay John. FYI- when/if the time is right, check out the 12 pics I posted on the other thread. There is one where we're in line getting ready to leave from a pit stop. You're a couple cars ahead and if you click and enlarge the pic you can actually see you in the side and rear mirrors with your shades on. Again, this may not be the time but as you noted, you'll be back in an s2k soon enough, probably red. It's a cool shot. Glad you're okay and FYI - you're the main reason I'm getting the Invidia. After Sandy and I heard you all weekend we couldn't resist. Dave helped seal the deal at FOF but you lead us to that drive.

Take care and hope to catch up soon.
Shay
