Default Track day

I would like to do track days and hope to start a group with similar interest. My interest is in going to places like Mid Ohio, Barber Motorsports park, VIR. Great tracks! I would like to get a chance to drive them at speed. Any people interested? Got any ideas how to get something going?

Yep, Chin has VIR on 7/3 and i am interested in going. Anyone else?
Also VIR has some regulations of three point roll bar for roadsters? Know if the s2000 is ok there?

Yeah I don't think a stock s2k will get in there due to the VIR regulations.

As far as the Gainesville Track Day I would definitely be in for something like that just for the convenience aspect.

I don't think any auto-x or the road course at gainesville will ever match the exhilarating experience I got on the Tail of the Dragon in NC/Tenn. I've never driven my car as hard as when I went on US129 and it was definitely the most concentrated drive I've ever been on. I will never forget attending my first s2ki WTD event of 06 . Definitely something to look into.

As far as doing a track day I would be interested in that also (preferably somewhere closer to home though). I am just scared of the fact that you are running side by side with other drivers and I'm 100% positive there will be a few dumb @ss ones at that.

WTD sounds like a good time but not for driving hard thats where i would be scared of the dumb @ss's, on the street. Locally sebring, or Daytona, if they ever have something like that there, would be fun. Gainsville i am in for next time it comes around but mainly i would like to put time on famous tracks the ones us regular people only see on tv.

I can always set something up at Sebring or Moroso, but be prepared...it's EXPENSIVE. Something like that and I need money from people up front. There's also the Daytona Intl Speedway infield. I did an autocross there once. Not sure what kind of hoops you'd have to do to have a track day there.

However, I do fully plan to set up a track day at Gainesville once this weekend's event is over. As for it being famous...well it technically is, just not for road racing. It's the site of one of the biggest drag racing events in the country, the Gatornationals. And after the track day, people can stick around for one of their Saturday night test-n-tune sessions.
