Yea the seals are ok like some one said this was a close shot only around 30-50 yards away if im right. Not making fun of the seals but i have seen there training and swat teams and rangers and lets say they are not at par with us marines. But glad to see them doing there job
Having been a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) pilot for the Navy, and in my latter career in the Navy a SAR swimmer, I have worked closely with both SEALS and Marines, and while I have much love for the Marines, I can without a doubt say, there is no comparison. The tasking for SEALS is vastly different than most other branches in the military, therefore rendering inter-branch comparisons useless. I think the SEALS track record speaks for themselves, though most of their stories you will never read about. They live in the background.

And on another note, as a SAR unit, prior to my departure, the anti piracy training for boarding ships and neutralizing pirates was down right frightening. About as close to a first person shooter video game as real life can get. Your field of vision through NVG's is spotty at best. Glad I'm out now........

Is flying UAVs given to officers as well or is this a P.O's job if so Im curious what rate this was given to or was a new rate created altogether? My friend was SAR and he was an AE like me but because of his SAR training he was stationed at an HCS squadron in Norfolk (combat aircrew)..Yes theres lots of stuff they do that people wont know about but then again only wars really get televised.

I was an AE. UAV's were stationed out of Maryland (Pax River). Squadron was VC-6. Now decommisioned. I was Sar with NAS Key West with H-3's, and opted out of the Rate merger into h60's as an AW and stayed an AE. I'm afraid to my knowledge, there is no UAV billet for enlisted any longer.

Every day I discover how ignorant I am As a scientist, for every discovery I make, it ussually results in two new questions.
