Default Value Scare

I went to Rick Case Honda today to get an appraisal for my S2000. They told me my car was only worth $22,500!!! I only have 13,500 miles, with new tires, and small accessory add ons.

They said the reason for such a slow value is because the 2003 models are being mass produced???? The guy told me they were getting 20 S2000's in the next month, and my car is now two model years old.

I think this really sucks that my car depreciated so much is such a short period of time. Anyone have any opinions or comments on this???

Say it ain't so! I still have people asking me "what kind of car is that?". It is so cool that there are so few around. I hate to see that distinction fade so quickly.

Dude, you went to Rick Case, that's the problem. Their sales department insists of a bunch of idiots and morons... hence the "mass-produced" line.

Take your car to Braman Honda in Miami, ask for Chris (SC-SUZUKA) or Justino Arnell and they will give you a better deal. I traded my 01 Spa Yellow back in May and they gave me $27,500.

I agree with Mav, the service staff at Rick Case is excellent, however thier sales staff is lacking in a big way. I went to buy my car from Rick Case and the salesman had never driven an S2000. I knew all about the car and he knew nothing.

Talk to your bank, not your car dealer if you want to know the value!!!!

Nada.com says your car is worth more!!!!

Honda S2000 with 13'500 miles is worth!!!!

2000
Trade-in $26675.00

Retail $29625.00

2001
Trade-in $28475.00

Retail $31600.00

Hope this helps!!!!

Go to www.edmunds.com and use the true market value feature. It gets very close to the black book value.

So basically they wanted to buy my car for $22,500 so they could resell it for $29,000. Real good.

Why get upset? Nobody can really "tell you" what the trade-in value is.

The actual value is what you get when you actually trade or sell it.
