I found an isometric view of the underside of the hood so I just blacked it out and made a few mock ups the last one is the hood by-itself so others can play around with different configurations:

although seeing the proper placement of the "oval" vent looks way better than my atrocity posted earlier, I still like the sides only version the best

Any thoughts on how to keep rain from getting to the battery and fusebox with that arrangement?

I don't see rain doing any harm. Water comes up from the bottom now anyways. What about a car wash?

Some have put in plastic inserts when it rains.

Jeff has a fix for this I believe. Inserts of some kind. I got the readers digest version of his plan the last time we talked but it seemed quick and easy to do.

Am I the only one seeing the Honda "H" in the 3rd picture down (the one with all 3 cut out on both sides along w/ the oval)?

Coincidence?

I think not!

Yes, I have a fix. I deals a lot with the use of carbon fiber. Me and CF, who would have thought. I can't get much more since it seems Mastergrade is out of business.

Not sure how much water would make it to the battery or fuse box from underneath.

I know when I wash under the hood, I try to stay away from the fusebox as well as the hydrolic fluid reservoirs. Normally I can do so with minimal water getting to either. I've never gone to a detailer...but you're probably right that they would wet it all down with high pressure (not sure if that is good though).

I'd just be concerned about a nice big Florida thunderstorm dropping a couple of inches in less than an hour through those holes...but maybe I'm paranoid.

I definitely would like to vent the heat though.

I'll wait to see JCarlton's fix...

caps for the front two big vents and a CF covering the stock heat shield.
