yah. i am becoming more and more a fan of the vws.. that is why i am trying to sell my grocery getter vw and get a gti..

got a ride in the new GTI.. i was pretty impressed.. not as fast as a s2k.. but more practical..

that new gti in ur link is CRAZY..

 

I am a VW freak and i modded 2 of the MK4 GTI's. the current Gen is called the MK5. the current car has the 2.0 FSI turbo motor. sweet motor and with just a chip jumps to around 255 hp and 300 ft lbs tq.

i am good friends with the owners of APR. well respected tuners in the Audi/VW world.

were ur mk4s 1.8ts? or vr6s?

 

mine were 1.8T's. i had a 2001 that i started modding then i decided to put it back to stock and traded it in for a 2002. i went full tilt on the 2002 GTI. won 1st place in MK4 Wild at NOPI Nationals in Atlanta 2 yrs in a row. 2003/2004. sold the car in 2005.

the 1.8T is able to hold 30psi on stock internals. i don't know what the 2.0 FSI is capable of because i got out of the VW's and bought the S. i still hang out on vwvortex.com but i rarely post.

the VR6 is a great motor but the 4cyl can be made to go faster for less money. but don't think the VW's are cheap to mod. mods cost are about the same as the S2000.
