WTB - Suspension
I currently have Esperil springs on stock shocks and they've finally given out. Looking to buy either koni yellows and keep the springs or go for a full coilover. Just a feeler now to see what's out there. Looking to buy mid-October since I'm going to be out of town on and off (the car sits until then).
If not, any opinions on either spending $600 on konis or $850 on Megan coilovers? I'm torn between the two. Is there another low cost option out there? I just can't get into spending over a G on coilovers.

do yourself a favor a buy a decent set of coilovers either teins or apexi has a full coilover thats fairly priced and good ride. personally i have the apexi and i love em so if youre going to spend money get something worht it.
I agree, you tend to get what you pay for. I love my Tein Flex coilovers.
You can sell the Espelirs used and you can get some Tein Flex's and all together you will be a little over $1000.

Ask WillieGee about his KW Variant 3 coilovers. Probably the best bang for the buck.
I have the Koni/Espilar setup...it is very good for the cost. But having driven WillieGee's car to compare to mine, I think the KW V3's are worth the extra $1000.

The KWs are double adjustable...both compression (or jounce) and rebound. Koni yellows are adj for rebound only. In jounce they are rather soft...softer than stock. Of course rebound can be adjusted to be much stiffer than stock.
The Konis feel a bit soft in initial transition (again only rebound stiffness is adj) and then take a set and hold it very well (rebound stiffness holds them)...this is great in steady state sweepers. This also makes them very nice on the street...bumps are well absorbed without being jarring.
The KWs feel immediately stiff in initial transition. The difference can best be felt in quick transitions, like a slalom. The KW feels very crisp compared to the Koni in that situation. The nice thing about the KW is that you can crank up the jounce stiffness for autox/track and then tone it down for the street while leaving the rebound stiffer than stock...in other words they have the flexibility to be better than the Koni on the track and as good as the Koni on the street. The cost for that extra flexibility is about $1k...I really like the way the KWs felt, so for me it is worth it and I'll pick up a set in the next year.

A cheep way out would be to get another set of OEM shocks
I'm sure you got many miles out of the originals and they were fine I'm guessing until this so... Buy a set out of an 04 or newer with lo miles and I think you will be happy

I'm a fan of my 16-way adjustable Buddy Club Racing Spec Dampers

forget all of that!!!
tell me how something can have 16 ways of adjustments when all it does is go up and down
Seriously, I cant offer any advice but I would like to know the answer to the question I just asked
