The event dates are established already.

CONFIRMED DATES
WTD9 2011
April 15th, 16th and 17th (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

Registration is supposed to open in November.

I can't speak for others in the state but the Tampa crew leaves early on Thursday, driving back roads to northern Georgia (Dillard) where we spend the night at Dillard House.

On Friday AM we leave Dillard again taking back roads into Highlands & Franklin NC. From there we end up in Fontana before noon. We check in, grab lunch and we will do the Poker Run Friday Afternoon they usually have planned.

Friday evening is usually a cookout on the softball field with the cars parked on the field. The beer & wine swap takes place that night as well.

Saturday morning begins with the "Monster Roll Out" where all S2K's leaving together and roll over Hellbender (Hwy #28) to Deals Gap where we roll over the Dragon. From there are usually several smaller group drives planned or we plan our own. Either way we spend the entire day driving as much of the great back road twisties as we can.

Saturday night is the official banquet, with a nice dinner, slide show, raffle prizes, etc. This is usually followed by several after dinner party's or a bon fire get together.

Sunday morning we depart for T-Town leaving as a group around 9:00 Am in an effort to get home at a decent hour.

Great weekend of S2K fun.

Hey Barry,

As far as the Dillard house stay goes, do we usually try to get a group rate or is every man for themselves when making those reservations?

In the past we have called and gotten a group rate. Although it isn't a big savings over the normal rack rate every little bit adds up. This year we did it kinda late and didn't get the rooms we normally do. They were nice but next year I would like to get back to our normal spot. The rooms are comfortable and more importantly the beds are comfortable, which is important after spending the entire day in the car to get there.
