FS: Slightly damaged GPW trunk
So I am replacing my trunk lid and am selling my slightly damaged one. Off a 2005 GPW with 50k. Brake light, lock, etc. taken off and will not be included (will have H badge). There are two forms of damage on it.
First, the car was in a slight collision before I bought it. The trunk was slightly bent up on the drivers side. The only paint loss from this was on the inside of the trunk and the amount that it is bent up is almost not noticeable (my girlfriend laughed at me when I pointed it out to her). Look at the pictures and see if you can tell!
Second, which is why I am replacing it, my car was vandalized in my apartment parking lot back in October 2010. A beer can was thrown at it, luckily only hitting my trunk. I didn't want to spend the ~$400 I was quoted from a body shop to fix it so I passed. I repaired it myself and I give the repair a "C" grade. I sanded the dent down, filled with Bondo, primed, painted, and cleared it with rattle cans. Downside is that I didn't quite get the spot perfectly level and the paint does not match.
The trunk sounds horrible but really isn't THAT bad. I have been sporting it for months until I found a deal on a replacement.
Located in Gainesville, FL and WILL NOT SHIP. Price is $50. I do frequently visit the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers area and could arrange meeting someone there.
Also want to note that the trunk is currently on my car and I cannot let go until my new one is delivered (purchased 7/4 on ebay).
UPDATE 7/5: Pictures
*Sorry for the dirty car, she sits outside
*

Discolored rectangle at the top of the trunk is the spot I 'fixed'

I tried to get an angle where you could see how it is pushed up slightly. this is the best I could get.

Okay. Its coming from Cali and I haven't received a shipping notification yet, so chances are slim to none. Where are you located? After the trip this weekend we should know when we are going down again. Likely early August.
If this falls through with Paul I'll take it from you. I'm in cape and can even give you mine to hold you over till the new one comes in. It's Sebring silver though. I'm just gonna wrap it anyhow so the damage means nothing to me. It won't be seen.
Sorry guys, the one i purchased on ebay came in and they messed it up. the packager for honda parts unlimited somehow destroyed the trunk between the time pictures were posted on ebay and the time it was sent to me. I am getting a complete refund from them, but unfortunately i will have to keep my trunk
