2nd gear issue and braking
Okay.. I don't know if this is a big problem or not but recently I would be driving and when I shift to 2nd gear it would pop out. I don't know if I'm actually putting the gear all the way in but if I wasn't then there would be grinding noise, correct? What should I do?
Also, there is some kind of squealing noise at times when I brake. When I lightly place my foot on the brake there is this squealing noise that very annoying. It's not that loud but loud enough for you to hear. Once I'm coming to a full stop the squeal fades away. Do you guys think there is an object stuck somewhere to cause the squealing?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

i have had the 2nd gear thing happen but not often. i think its just because i didn't put it in gear.
as far as the braking problem, someone correct me if i'm wrong, can't you just put some silicone compound on the back of the brake pads, if the pads are not worn out, obviously if they are worn out there is your problem.

I know that there is a tsb for the second gear issue. Do a search on the site and take it to the dealer.
If there is something stuck on your brake pad, you should see a corresponding score mark on your rotor. Otherwise your brakes may be just worn out.

Tu... Have you ever changed your tranny fluid? If not, that may resolve the issue. Check for the TSB as well, Honda should honor the fix.
Check here for updated TSB's
I changed my transmission fluid in August 08. As of right now I have approximately 25,xxx miles on the car. The 2nd gear popping out is not consistent though. It'll happen like once every other week or so. Not everyday or couple times a day. But with the squealing noise from the brakes, it doesn't happen every single time I brake either. It'll happen once or twice. I mean I haven't tracked the car at all and I drive conservatively so that shouldn't be the problem.
I have a similar brake noise coming from one of the pads/rotors. I am going to try to use one of those products from autozone that help eliminate the noise. I can't imagine its due to worn out pads. I only hear when I apply light pressure to the brakes.

you know tu it may just be your pads seems how pads are semi metal. the longer life of the pads the more metal that is in them. i may just be to a certain point on your pad where that metal is hitting your rotor.
