Default 303

THis 303 shit sucks balls. I went to the car wash to pressure wash this crap off and I spray it for over a minute and the stuff was still coming out of the top. It's still wet. When I put the top down, it still gets all over the rear window. Now, from washing it, it is all over every window and the rest of the car.

What should I use to get this shit off my car? How should I do it? I don't want it on my car at all!

I am getting ready to place an order to purchase some 303 tomorrow. Tell me, did you just apply it on your top and didn't like it? Please give me details. Maybe I should think twice about buying it. Thanks.

You want it but USE IT SPARINGLY.. If you use this stuff in excess it is a nightmare!

Shawn- The only 2 things I can think of is either just grab a ton of towels and start buffing away or order the 303 cleaner. It does a good job at removing stuff from the top including the protectant I THINK. I'd spray that stuff on on there and hit it with a brush a few times. DO NOT let this stuff sit on your paint. If you wash it and it gets on your paint do whatever you can to remove it.

Don't try to spray it "ON" !!! Pour some in a Tupperware or plastic bowl. Dip a microfiber rag in it. Sqweeze-out the excess. Wipe from side-to-side,(driver's side to pass. side) then, front to rear. Let DRY! 45min. to an hour. Pour remaining, or unused product back in container. 303 works "Great" DO-NOT try to "SOAK" the top.

Shawn... 303 is a great product. We way overdid it by soaking the top the way we did. Ragtop Cleaner will get the excess out very well. Use a scrub brush and some elbow grease and you should be fine.

This is my fault and I will take full responsibility for it.

Sorry dude!

Yeah, so I just went and looked at my car. Well, the stuff has been all over my car since the day we did it and theres a bunch of spots in the paint. It's really bad on my carbon fiber hood. Wiping it with detailing spray gets rid of some of them and then it's a haze all over the area. That's just great. So hopefully I will wash it with some dish soap to try and strip everything off of it and hopefully it hasn't actually etched my paint. This is why I always do everything myself and never let anyone even wash my car, but I thought that this one time would be fine, I was wrong. So, I wouldn't look for me at anymore install days, detailing days, or any other event for that matter.

I agree. We just applied too much. The "wipe on" method Looter speaks of sounds like a more controlled way to apply it. The top still looks like new!

Any vinyl car top cleaner product should work to remove most or all of the 303.

S2K_Shawn - As far as damage to the paint, I doubt that's likely. I think the protectant contains some paraffin-like hydrocarbon compounds - the greasy spots you're referring to. Once the excess 303 is removed from your top, you will no longer see these. I hope you did not use a dishwasher detergent (as opposed to a liquid dish soap like Dawn). Dishwasher detergents are extremely caustic due to the lye (sodium hydroxide) or sodium phosphate, commonly used in these products. Good for dirty dishes - Bad for your car!

Shawn. I understand you are upset. But you need to watch how you post on here.
