Ah nuts! Instead of patiently waiting, I went ahead and picked up a pair of mirrors, too. Hyedracyl talked about the convex mirrors on his S in a real positive way at the last fluid change-out day 8BALL hosted. Said it solved problems with blind-spots. The tinted color is a plus, too. Hate it when a big SUV blinds me (or any car for that matter).

When you remove the convex mirror, will it damage the OEM mirror? How would you remove the convex mirror at a future time when you want to go back to OEM? Thank you in advance.

Very Carefully ... I believe I'm going to take the OEM mirror holder out, remove the OEM mirror and reseat the convex in the Mirror holder.
Apparently, the OEM mirror is easily removed from the holder by boiling the (removed) unit in a pot of water. This loosens the adhesive between the OEM mirror and the mirror holder enough to separate the two with a razor blade. The convex mirror is then glued (3M double-sided tape) to the mirror holder for a cleaner look.

What you say makes sense. But I am averse to risks. I guess I will wait and see. I hope you all have excellent results with this. It probably won't look good but I could always put a small round convex mirror as stick on. But probably that takes away from the clean look. Thank you all.

Have had mine on for 2+ years now. Does look kinda cheesey. Would not worry. Worst case you purchase 2 new OEM mirror for under $100.

8BALL-
Thanks for all your help on the install of these convex mirrors. I can't believe how much extra viewing area they provide. Good-bye blind spots! The tinted mirrors match the Suzuka blue in a extraordinary way, and compliment any other color, too.

This is one of, if the the best, modification that you can make to your car. You'll actually be able to see what's going on around you - even with the top up! I highly recommend it - as in they should be manufactured this way...

I just slowly removed the original mirror by hand, doing nothing clever during the process. There is a malable adhesive on the back of the mirror which I re-used to mount the new mirror. Works like a champ, with no discernable difference from stock and no problems with operation. I would assume returning to stock would be similarly easy.
