That is a sweet desk Ron I love it. As for the filler we were told to get some grout and then seal it with a high gloss sealer from the guy at Lowe's so we bought it and now its just waiting to get finished.

IMO...You may regret doing grout. It will be uneven and cover the sides of your caps taking away the look you are going for. Tile grout is not made to hold things in place but rather cover the thinset and give you an accent color to tile.

This type of project will look much better at with an epoxy resin...It will be smooth, clear, and easy to clean too.

Grout? ... I tend to agree w/ stlvtec: grout will be a bear to get in & around all those caps, is going to be uneven, & will leave you looking at just the cap-tops - not sure if that's the look your're going for...

Have you tried it with a couple of caps on a scrap piece of wood to get a feel for the effect before hitting the whole bar top?

Of course, as Doug said, we'll all expect an invite over to christen the bar once you're done ... before even

The broken glass border I mentioned is held in place with a diluted caulk-like substance - I'll check the recipe next time I call my folks.

Even better.

Drink a beer, mount a cap, repeat 600 times and it will be done.

The Apoxy resin sounds more like what I had pictured in my head... Is it hard to do?? And anytime you all want to have a S2Ki drinking party let me know. I'm always down for some beer consumption.

It just a matter of mixing the right amount of epxy with the hardener and pouring it on your bar top. It will harden clear and flat...sounds like there are some tables at Java Girls that you could check out to see what the final product will look like. It can get pricey depending on how many gallons you need.....
